Suning Logistics has taken a step ahead by integrating advanced automation into its operations. For instance, in the Shanghai robotic warehouse, the use of AGV robots has significantly improved efficiency. Lv Xia, a picker at the site, recalls that last year, five team members had to stay behind to ensure smooth deliveries, but this year, only one person is needed to cover the shift. According to the company’s logistics manager, the introduction of AGV robots has not only boosted delivery speed but also reduced the workload for warehouse staff. In November last year, the Fengxian warehouse in Shanghai became the largest robotic warehouse in East China, achieving the "Goods to Man" picking model. With an average picking time of just 10 seconds per item, the efficiency of small-item picking has increased fivefold compared to manual methods, and the accuracy rate reaches an impressive 99.99%. Looking ahead, Suning plans to expand its smart logistics network across China. Preparations for new AGV warehouses in Jinan and Wuhan are nearly complete, with expected launches in March. Additional locations such as Chongqing and Shenzhen will follow soon. By 2018, Suning aims to operate over 10 intelligent warehouses nationwide. Following the success in Zhejiang Anji, several routes were opened in Anhui last December. This year, villagers shopping on Suning Tesco can even receive their goods via drone, significantly reducing delivery times. To enhance the user experience, Suning has introduced a “Four No” commitment: no disruption in store operations, no interruption in online and offline services, no pause in after-sales support, and no halt in logistics. Customers can rest assured that their orders will be handled with care, regardless of the holiday. Mr. Chen, a local worker in Nanjing, recently purchased a smartphone for his parents through Suning Tesco’s New Year promotions. He also ordered snacks for the festival. After placing the order, he picked up the package directly from the Suning Xinjiekou Store. “This way, I avoid crowded supermarkets and don’t need to wait for home delivery. It’s really convenient for busy office workers,” he said. Suning’s offline stores play a vital role in the Spring Festival logistics strategy. Over 2,227 Suning outlets across the country remain open, and 1,460 stores continue to operate without interruption. These stores act as key distribution points, allowing customers to place online orders and collect them in-store. With options for fast delivery—some as quick as two hours—users enjoy greater flexibility. Suning Logistics’ promise of uninterrupted service during the New Year is backed by more than 10,000 couriers. The company’s “Speed, Warmth, and Grace” delivery model has earned widespread consumer trust. To ensure smooth operations, all on-duty couriers will receive subsidies.
