It seems like no matter what you're doing, whether it's gaming, watching videos, or just browsing, this problem keeps popping up. One reader even mentioned that sometimes the only solution is to shell out cash for better hardware—or just play less demanding games if your GPU hits the roof. However, if your CPU consistently spikes to 100%, especially while running certain programs, that’s definitely not normal unless you’re rocking a decade-old rig.
Now, here’s a quick fix if you’re in a bind: you can end the problematic process directly in Windows Task Manager. But this is more of a temporary solution. If you want a long-term fix, things get a bit more technical. That’s where Process Lasso comes in—a fantastic tool for system optimization. Essentially, it uses an advanced algorithm to manage and prioritize processes so that your CPU doesn’t get bogged down by inefficient tasks. This helps prevent crashes, freezes, and excessive CPU usage, ensuring smoother performance overall.

For processes that seem unnecessary—like software update services or mysterious programs hogging system resources—you can right-click on them and choose "Limit Number of Instances" to restrict them to just one instance. Windows system-critical processes like svchost, and common software like QQ, WeChat, and Office suites, should be given higher priority. Just set them to "above standard" rather than max priority, as setting them too high could actually cause your system to freeze upon startup.

By the way, I’d also recommend adding certain programs to the blacklist. Think of all those sneaky background apps that launch automatically, ad programs like WPS and QQ, or other unwanted software.
