In October 2011, Anker was founded in California by Steven Yang, a former Google engineer. The company specializes in smart digital peripherals such as power banks, chargers, Bluetooth devices, and data cables. Known for its high-quality materials, innovative design, and reliable performance, Anker quickly became a popular brand globally. Today’s two main characters are two highly sought-after charging products that Anker once launched across the market: - **Anker QC2.0 10050mAh Fast Charger** You might recognize the term "QC2.0" – this product has been around for a while. I bought mine in late 2015 for 199 yuan, and at the time, QC2.0 fast charging was still quite rare. It sold 70 units back then, and even now, it’s still available at 149 yuan. It really holds its value. ![Image of Anker QC2.0 Charger](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/da/b9/e3/72d6be5a30b7f63fc282b071a0.jpg) Basic information: ![Image of Product Info](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/c2/56/3e/cd187844b6ccd9bdc969904504.jpg) Detailed specifications: ![Image of Specifications](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/6b/2b/ba/0dcd5b4d29d6fe1d33453dd1df.jpg) One reason this product was so popular is because it was the first to support QC2.0 bi-directional fast charging after the technology emerged. This made it a target for many domestic manufacturers. Another product from Anker is the **Anker Charger + Charger**, which is essentially a super charger. I bought it last year for 148 yuan. ![Image of Anker Combo Charger](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/dc/bb/e1/57b0009151f39ddf00dade3e94.jpg) ![Image of Product Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/fb/7e/5e/72f31638a202b80720af98742d.jpg) Specifications: ![Image of Specifications](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/99/e2/99/5d1c491a1243e1f6c96a3d8fc6.jpg) If you look at this product, you can guess what it is. That’s right – it was one of the first products to combine a charger and a power bank into one. Today, there are many similar combo products on the market, but Anker was a pioneer. Even though these two products were discontinued, they were not the only innovative ones from Anker. Now you understand why Anker is often called a "net red" product. Here’s my purchase history: ![Image of Purchase History](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/d5/16/d9/9de60f797fb868cf424975f474.jpg) I’ve purchased the QC2.0 charger three times, but only two are shown here. The third was deleted. Why? Because I kept buying it for personal use, and I’ll explain my real experiences later. --- 2. **User Experience and Evaluation** Although I really like Anker products, after long-term use, I have to honestly point out some flaws of these two charging products. Why? Because I want to be responsible to both friends who value quality and myself, without any exaggeration. When I first bought the Anker QC2.0 charger, I used it with three phones: the Kidney 5, HTC Niu Pill, and 360 Mobile Ultimate. After using it for a while, I noticed that the number of charges provided by the QC2.0 charger wasn’t perfect. It couldn’t reach the theoretical number of charges. For example, the Niu Pill had a small battery and showed signs of being slightly charged, while the 360 flagship (with 3700mAh) could only charge half a time. What the heck? The key concept here is that the nominal capacity of a power bank doesn’t always translate to actual usable power for your phone. This is known as the conversion rate. A good power bank can reach 80% or higher, but some are as low as 50%. After checking online, I found that the actual discharge value was very low. Testers and electronic load devices confirmed it. The result was shocking — the discharge never exceeded 6100mAh, always just over 6000. That’s a 60% conversion rate! No wonder the phone only got half a charge. Was I buying a fake Anker product or a defective one? So I returned the first one. Later, I realized it didn’t support fast charging, and the phone couldn’t fully utilize its potential. At the time, there weren’t many alternatives. A month later, I bought another one. With lessons learned, I tested the second one carefully. The result was the same — almost exactly like the first one. It seems I was lucky not to get a bad product. Eventually, when the warranty period came, I tried to contact customer service. The response was slow, but after waiting a few days, I received a replacement. Re-testing again, I was completely disappointed. Buying two in a row, and the product still had obvious defects. I really couldn’t ignore it. Then I did further tests for everyone and pointed out other issues. Test supplies included: Anker QC2.0 Power Bank, Anker Combo Charger, USB Tester, USB Electronic Load (5V1A), 360 N5, and Kidney 8P. First, the QC2.0: Discharge test: ![Image of Discharge Test](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/b7/b8/20/1f3f074273d5878a9f6dfb12a1.jpg) End of discharge: ![Image of End Discharge](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/10/9b/77/b9fc20d4103581eccb0c57e913.jpg) Conclusion: Nominal 10050mAh, actual discharge was 5801mAh. Less than 60%, and after more than half a year, the capacity decreased only slightly. This isn’t too bad. Kidney 8P Charging Test: ![Image of Kidney 8P Test](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/f0/4b/f6/08e4c575d0b2ef6e318a7ec9f0.jpg) Conclusion: Due to fast charging protocols, the voltage was only around 4.8V and 0.8A. Even basic chargers are better. 360N5 Charging Test: ![Image of 360N5 Start Charge](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/4e/88/e1/b0e3b411e6359d81aafb155e88.jpg) After full charge: ![Image of 360N5 Full Charge](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/9c/5a/cb/64d4b442362d521ea6a20bb493.jpg) Conclusion: 360N5 supports QC3.0 and is compatible with QC2.0. The charger finally worked well, reaching 8.5V and 1.7A. It achieved fast charging, but still fell short of the theoretical 9V2A. However, this isn’t a major issue. The bigger problem was the second image. After fully charging the N5, the power bank had three grids left. How much could those charge the N5? I measured it, but forgot to take a photo. The result was about 30% — less than one and a half charges. Next, the Anker Combo Charger: Discharge value: ![Image of Discharge Test](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/5d/ea/93/8c24ebf22941f56401c9373cb9.jpg) End of discharge: ![Image of End Discharge](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/28/19/ee/375567529f61e9213246e2905d.jpg) Conclusion: 3218mAh, and the value hasn’t changed much after three months. The nominal capacity is 5000mAh, and the conversion rate is around 65% — better than the QC2.0 model. The combo charger has two functions: as a wall plug and as a power bank. The wall plug provides 5V2.1A, while the power bank provides 5V3A. The wall plug has a larger output, but the value is lower than the power bank. I don’t understand the logic behind it. I plugged in the Kidney 8P: ![Image of Kidney 8P Test](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/77/9d/b3/912a621f1a7082e2fe8e501270.jpg) Voltage was 4.93V, 1.06A — just average. Testing the two USB ports separately: ![Image of Top Port](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/7d/ca/18/f8192d3e5082c26a1be8ef01fc.jpg) ![Image of Bottom Port](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/de/09/7f/8e59f1dff4f56922c793db9ea8.jpg) The top port is similar to a regular charger, while the bottom is weaker. Neither reached the maximum speed. Also, the numbers fluctuated a lot, which is confusing. Trying the 360N5 again: ![Image of 360N5 as Charger](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/c7/4c/b9/060ea2c3f238f12b58fe6e19e5.jpg) Voltage: 4.91V, 1.27A — still not as good as a standard 2A charger. As a power bank: ![Image of N5 Charging](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/f4/44/2a/793362323fe3c38012d1b9bb39.jpg) I intentionally used the N5 for testing. I charged it and went to sleep. When I woke up a few hours later, the power bank was completely dead, and the N5 was at 85%. It was enough to charge a 4000mAh phone only once. **Shortcomings Summary:** a. The conversion rates of both power banks are not high, affecting the actual number of charges. b. These two power banks are not compatible with the Kidney 8P. It can be inferred that similar models like the Kidney 8 and X also won’t achieve fast charging. c. Performance in fast charging vs. standard charging is unsatisfactory. --- 3. **Also Objective About Advantages** Well, I’ve explained so many shortcomings. I think many people feel like they’ve detoxed, but I also want to talk about the advantages based on facts. a. **Build Quality** When you actually use it, you can see that the craftsmanship is excellent compared to similar products. For me, the build quality is so good that I can overlook some flaws. ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/98/15/2f/9b497e854480c4fd68ac329552.jpg) The overall design is simple and elegant, with a small logo on a black background. It gives a sense of confidence. ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/ba/99/fe/882a50b031f04b4f795c694177.jpg) ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/9c/33/e5/cbb96227f1e21af1660b5e3330.jpg) The overall tightness, straight edges, and sleek design are all impressive. ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/86/b2/9e/d8a021a23bed14b641b8c80852.jpg) The size is not too big. Two fingers can easily pick it up, and it’s not too heavy for men or too cumbersome for women. ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/f8/85/15/d38e567ae9820c75b58ebfeb8e.jpg) Except for slight scratches near the ports, it’s hard to find any damage unless it’s dropped violently. b. **Market Leader** It was once a leading product in its category. From 1 to 10, it’s easy to say, and from 0 to 1, it’s respectable. c. **Slow Battery Degradation** Even after years of use, the battery degradation is minimal. It still holds a decent amount of charge. d. **Convenience** The combo design is practical. If you’re not in a hurry, carrying just one device is enough. ![Image of Combo Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/3f/22/70/a959f62456d35233a1e8bb41ec.jpg) ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/99/99/9a/6593cbbb160d906101ea9c57c8.jpg) The design has remained consistent over the years — simple, clean, and minimalist. ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/4e/a2/3b/7a050f3a7c267353bd7294ecd0.jpg) ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/06/27/81/6f0c99d9f433b1e555bd954c68.jpg) It’s small, easy to hold, and the plug is hidden, making it convenient to use. ![Image of Design](http://i.bosscdn.com/blog/47/fe/75/fdbef7b8f5ff025154d44f244e.jpg) Plug it into a 220V outlet, and it becomes a charging head. Unplug the device, and it starts charging itself. Don’t be scared by my previous evaluations. In reality, discharge efficiency and charging speed aren’t everything. When you're on the go and need to charge, having this device means you can safely carry it and unplug it whenever needed. It instantly turns into a power bank, solving your worries. That’s its greatest value. e. **Brand Trust** Even if some may not agree, I believe the brand name carries some weight. Thank you all.
