Low Temperature Bending Test Method
The low temperature bending instrument is designed and manufactured in accordance with the specifications of GB/T 18173-2006, specifically for conducting low temperature bending tests on waterproof materials.
Low Temperature Bending Test Method
1. Low Temperature Bender
In a standard environmental condition, measure the thickness of the sample using a thickness gauge. Ensure that the thick surface of the sample has no visible defects or irregularities.
2. Prepare the Test Surface
Ensure the test surface is completely bent outward at 180 degrees. The 50mm (or 25mm) wide edge should be aligned flush without any misalignment. Secure the edge using clips, staples, or 10mm wide tape to prevent movement during the test.
3. Adjust the Bending Instrument
Adjust the distance between the upper and lower plates of the bender to three times the thickness of the sample. This ensures proper bending pressure during the test.
4. Place the Sample on the Bender
Open the upper and lower plates of the bender and place the sample onto them. Make sure the overlapping side faces the rotating shaft and is positioned 20mm (or 25mm) away from it.
5. Conduct the Test
Place the bending instrument along with the sample into the low temperature chamber. Allow it to remain at the specified temperature for 1 hour (or 2 hours). Then, within 1 second, press the flat plate of the bender to the adjusted spacing and hold for 1 second. Remove the sample afterward.
6. Inspect the Sample
After returning to room temperature, inspect the sample for cracks or breaks. If necessary, use a magnifying glass to examine the bend thoroughly.
7. Evaluation Criteria
If two or three specimens show no cracks or fractures after testing, they are considered to have passed the test.
