Hibino has developed an LED display that supports three-dimensional (3D) display, including "ChromaLED 3D4" with 4mm pitch and "ChromaLED 3D6" with 6mm pitch. It is mainly used for 3D video viewing of venues, museums, theme parks, and public viewing rooms (Public Viewing).
According to Hibino, both products use a "point-to-point" approach in which the left-eye image signal and the right-eye image signal are alternately arranged at every other point. Each point is equipped with a circular polarizing filter, and stereoscopic images can be viewed after wearing passive circular polarizing glasses. The point-to-point method is adopted to reduce the resolution while ensuring uniform resolution, and a more comfortable stereoscopic image can be viewed. In order to increase the viewing angle, the company has improved the method of covering circular polarizing filters at various points.
The 6mm pitch product has been on sale since November 22, 2010. Whether the 4mm pitch product has been put into production has not yet been determined, but in terms of 4mm pitch products, Hibino has disclosed a 76-inch LED display. In terms of 6mm pitch products, it has disclosed a 280-inch LED display and disclosed its 3D image display effect.
The 7-inch pitch of the 76-inch LED display has a pixel size of 384×288 and a picture aspect ratio of 4:3. The screen brightness was 510 cd/m2, and the power consumption when all white light was emitted was 2.8 kW. The size of the casing is 1536 mm wide x 1152 mm high x 210 mm thick.
The 6mm pitch 280-inch LED display has 1024 x 576 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The picture brightness is 730 cd/m2. Hibino consists of 8 columns in the horizontal direction, 6 columns in the vertical direction, and a total of 48 38-inch modules in units of 128 × 96 pixels, forming a 280-inch product. Depending on the application, it can also form a 520-inch full HD display. For 2D display purposes.
As of November 2010, Hibino has sold 2,300 6mm pitch LED displays in 128 x 96 pixels worldwide. The Hibino LED display system, represented by LED displays that support 3D display, will also be combined with JVC Kenwood's imaging system and will be sold by JVC Kenwood Holdings.
