US CPSC Recalls China LCD TVs

US CPSC Recalls China LCD TVs On October 2, 2012, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Haier America Trading LLC jointly announced the voluntary recall of a Chinese-made 42-inch LED LCD TV Haier. The recalled product was a Haier® 42-inch LED LCD TV. The product model LE42B1380 and “Haier” were marked on the back of the TV. The LCD TV was sold at other Fry's Electronics retail stores throughout the United States in September 2011 and March 2012 at a unit price of approximately $450 per unit.

The number of recalled products is about 5,000. The reason for the recall is that the television base is easily broken, and the overturned TV may cause the user to be injured. Up to now, Haier America Trading LLC and the Consumer Product Safety Commission of the United States have received 184 reports of TV breakage, and no personal injuries have occurred.

To this end, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that consumers immediately stop using the recalled LCD TVs and contact Haier America Trading LLC for a free replacement cradle.
