Foreword:

What is the color rendering index Ra?


The artificial daylight standard light source with the same (or close to) color temperature as the measured light source has a color rendering index of 100 for the specified color of fourteen (China plus one Asian women's skin color).

The same fourteen (China plus one Asian women's skin color) specified color, the difference between the color developed under the illumination of the measured light source and the color of the standard light source, ΔEI, the color rendering index for a certain color: RI= 100-4.6 ΔEI. Take the first eight of the fourteen colors, R1, R2, ... R8, add up and then average, then Ra, called the general color rendering index, representing the color rendering performance of the measured light source.

The general color rendering index for daylight and artificial standard light sources close to daylight is set at 100. For the same object, the color developed under the illumination of the measured light source is more consistent with the color developed by the light of the standard light source, and the larger Ra, the better the color rendering performance; conversely, the poorer the color rendering property.

Why are there high brightness and high white LED requirements?

As LEDs increase in lighting applications, the quality of light is increasingly demanding. The US ENERGY STAR standard requires LED lamps to have a color rendering index of CRI > 80, which brings high demands on LED packaging technology. However, we generally know that the increase in color rendering index will inevitably lead to a sharp decrease in brightness, so how can we obtain more? The higher brightness is the goal that every LED engineer pursues. We recommend the following solutions for the current lighting market by studying market demand, corresponding chip wavelength range, and phosphor technology:

Warm white CRI>80 Y26W+R16E
Positive white CRI>80 Y33W+R10E
Positive white CRI>85 Y26W+R16E
