Luminus launches the brightest LED chip

More and more projectors are now using LED light sources, and LuminusDevices is known for producing tiny flat panel LED products.

Recently, Luminus announced that they have produced the brightest LED chip, model PT-39. The chip uses separate red, green and blue LEDs, each measuring only 0.4-0.55 inches. The chip is primarily designed to work with Texas Instruments' DLP display panels. The first product to use the PT-39 chip will be the Acer K10 Pocket Projector. The projector has a brightness of 100 ANSI lumens, SVGA (800600) resolution and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.

LEDs have become more and more popular and represent the future direction of light sources. Compared with standard halogen lamps, they are more environmentally friendly because they do not use mercury. In addition, LED conversion efficiency is high, which makes it less power consumption and Luminus and Acer K10 micro-projection will be exhibited at CES this week.
