EU Eup directive to determine 5 categories including lighting products

The EU Energy Products Ecology Involvement Requirements Directive (Eup Directive) introduced the first five types of implementation rules. Relevant energy-consuming products in Jiangsu Province will face new green barriers during the transition period in 2010.

The Eup Directive covers almost all energy-consuming products and requires compliance with ecological design specifications, otherwise it must not be circulated in the EU market. The first five categories of rules refer to street lighting products, office lighting products, standby and shutdown power consumption, external power products and simple prototype set-top boxes. According to the analysis of the Foreign Economic and Trade Office of the province, this will seriously affect China's exports of office equipment, refrigerators, air conditioners, electromechanical, audio and video products to the EU. In 2007, only about 20% of the above-mentioned EU products were exported. By 2010, if the level of energy conservation is not improved, 80% of the above products will be rejected. To overcome this technical trade barrier, we must improve the product design, manufacturing and use, post-processing level, and increase the cost by about 20%.
